The Environment is Taking a number of Measures to Cope with the Torrents, Including Identifying Camping Sites in the Reserves:
Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, issued her directives to the Central Operations Room of the Ministry of Environment to coordinate with the operations rooms of the regional branches of the Ministry and the natural reserves to raise the degree of preparedness, to face any environmental damage that may result from potential torrents and heavy rains, and to work to limit the negative effects that may result from them. After the release of a statement by the Meteorological Authority, the country is expected to be exposed to a wave of unstable weather.
The Ministry of Environment prepared to cope with the floods by:
1- Real-time follow-up with industrial and petroleum facilities to ensure that no oil or oil leakage occurs during the exposure period.
2- Preparing to take immediate control measures in the event of any oil or oil leakage, in addition to urging them to participate in the capabilities available to them, including equipment and cars for suction water, tractors and loaders.
3- Identifying the threatened sites, such as: torrents, and passing over them for follow-up.
4- Identify camping sites far from the torrents, implement the camping evacuation plan and determine the evacuation paths.
5- Determining the gathering places and the emergency entrances and exits in the reserves, and ensuring that the appropriate indicative signs are in place.
6- Putting an indicative board at the entrance to each reserve, with a map of the camping sites, places and exit routes from the reserve.
